In May 2015, all of us at DIS were thrilled to move into our very own premises on the Barleylands site in Billericay. We now have a 140ft Polytunnel, which acts as our Centre of Excellence. On our site, we can teach a whole host of skills which are both enjoyable and educational.
We are developing the space every day and altering what is available and what can be achieved. However, within our Centre we teach:
- Art and design
- Mural design
- Basic level horticulture
- Basic level carpentry
- Estate management
All of our clients will have the opportunity to work within all areas, and if a particular job is preferred, we will aim to allow them to work in that area more frequently.
We are within a secure environment which allows our clients to have freedom of space. Our clients see the space as their own and take pride in being a part of something bigger. We have all worked together to bring on the changes at our Centre, it continuously adapts to become even greater every day, and it is our clients that are making it possible.
